Document Disposal Instructions

If your organization allows it, RM can assign Disposal Actions to individual Documents. Before anyone can assign an action, your administrator must create a record-level Disposal Action in RM Administration Tool.

To assign disposal instructions to a single Document:

  1. On the Search Results page, select one or more Documents.

  2. Click Disposal Instructions. The Assign Disposal Instructions page opens.

  3. In New Disposal Action, click the lookup button to open a new window that shows all of the record-level Disposal Actions that are defined.

  4. Select the action to apply and click OK.

  5. If required by your organization, enter a New Disposal Authority. Click the lookup button to view a list of all available authorities.

  6. Click Save Changes to apply the new instructions to the Document(s).
