Use the DM Viewer

The DM Viewer allows you to view any document type found in a library, even if the related application (for example: Microsoft Word or WordPerfect) is not present on the computer. This optional component must be installed and configured before it can be used.

To view documents using DM Viewer:

  1. Select a document to view. The DM Classic Webtop launches the DM Viewer and displays the document.

  2. Three links are displayed across the top of the viewer page: HTML, DM Viewer, and Native. You can change the document viewer settings temporarily.

Changes made here will be reflected on the My Options page but expire after the current DM Classic Webtop session ends. Using these buttons does not affect your viewer preferences defined on the My Options page.

  3. If the document being displayed is the result of a Full-Text or Content search, two additional links are displayed at the top right of the viewer screen: Previous Hit and Next Hit. These links allow you to quickly find occurrences (hits) of the search parameter text in the current document.

  1. Launch Windows Explorer.

  2. Select Folder Options from the Tools menu. The Folder Options dialog box is displayed.

  3. Select the File Types tab.

  4. Scroll through the list of Registered file types and locate the extension of the file you want to view in the DM Classic Webtop browser window.

  5. Click the Advanced button. The Edit File Type dialog box is displayed.

  6. Select the Browse in same window check box. Documents associated with the selected file extension will be opened in same browser window. If the Browse in same window check box is cleared, documents associated with the selected extension will be opened in a separate browser window.
