The Search Field

The Search field on the right side of the navigation pane allows you to perform an instant document search by entering a document number or search criteria and clicking the Perform Search icon.

To search by document number:

  • Enter the exact document number in the Search field.

260 will return document number 260, 261 will return document number 261, and so on.

Even though documents 260 and 261 are known to exist, 26* will not return these documents. The use of wildcards in the Search field is only supported for content searching.

The search string 26* will only return documents that contain matches in the content of the document. For example, searching for 26* would return documents containing “Profits are up 26 percent this year.” or “The meeting is at 2684 Baker Street.”

To perform a full-text search, enter the search word or phrase:

  1. The search word budget will return documents that contain the word budget in the actual contents of the document.

  2. Used individually, the three search words “OC3,” “Provision,” or “Proposal”will all return the document titled “OC3 Provision Proposal”as well as any other documents containing the search words.

  3. The search will only find words that are an exact match for your criteria. For example, searching for the word “test”will return documents with the word “test,” but not the words “tested”or “testing”
