Working with a Library in the Tree

To view default Quick Searches, saved Quick Searches, and Public Folders in a DM library, click the Expand icon next to the library you want to work with. To view the Quick Reference page for a particular library, click the library name link.

  • The following default Quick Searches are displayed: Recently Edited, Checked Out, and Templates.

  • To run a default Quick Search, click the desired Quick Search. The documents that match the search in the selected library are displayed.

  • To run a Quick Search to which you have access, expand the Quick Searches icon and click the desired Quick Search. The Quick Search Results page is displayed. To view all of the Quick Searches to which you have access, click the Quick Searches link. The Quick Searches page is displayed.

When you perform a search, the search criteria are saved as a Session Search for you to perform later, if needed. Each Session Search is discarded after you log off from DM. In the tree, your Session Searches are displayed under the Quick Searches node for each library. If you want to run a saved Session Search against a library that is not listed as a search library, a message box is displayed stating, “You have selected a Quick Search from a library that isn't marked for searching. Do you want to select this library for searching?”Click Cancel if you do not want to run the search. Click OK to display the Library List dialog box. Select the search libraries you want to run the Session Search against and click OK. For more information on Session Searches, see Session Searches.

  • When you expand the Public Folders node, the public folders for the selected library are displayed in alphabetical order.

To view the contents of a public folder, expand the Public Folders icon and click the desired Public Folder. The Folder Details page is displayed.

You can also expand a single Public Folder to view the sub-folders. Click the sub-folder to view the Folder Details page for that folder.
