Profile a Paper Document

DM will keep track of your paper documents as well as your electronic files. For example, if you have charts, maps, or reference material that cannot be stored on a computer, you can fill out a Profile Entry form stating the physical location of the item. Any activity to the document can be tracked through the Document History.

The item can be locked using the Check-Out feature, and you can view the History or profile in the same manner as you would a normal electronic document. In addition, you can mark a paper document as read-only.

To create a paper document:

  1. Click the New Document link below the navigation pane.

  2. Select the Paper tab.

  3. Fill out the Profile Entry form using the procedures described in Fill Out the Document Profile. If you need to remove all the entries in fields on the profile, click Clear All.

  4. Click Create. The details for the new document are displayed on the Document Details page.
